What’s new in 2026
Over the next few months I am hoping to get a lot done. Maybe not too much on the website, but who knows, with AI anything is possible.
What I’m Working On
-
Work:
Work-wise I have a new project on at the minute which is pretty exciting. It’s helping a new client deliver a large scale data platform with Databricks. I am still working at Advancing, and enjoying the challenge.
-
Running:
With a lot of success in running last year, I am hoping to continue the PB train into 2026. I have a number of events this year including the Winter Run, Hackney Half and the Royal Parks half. I’m also thinking about whether I could train for a full marathon. At the same time, I want to make sure I am still leading when I can at run club.
-
Piano:
I am hoping to make a step up in my piano if I can, but I am struggling to find enough time to practise to be honest. I would like to be a lot more confident with Chords and Voicings, to the point where I could pick up standards very quickly.
-
Fitness:
I’ve signed up to the gym, and am trying to get there as much as I can. Given the weight loss I managed last year, I am hoping to put on some muscle to bulk back up a bit.
Reflections on the Past Year
I had a really good 2025, it’s been the best year in a long time, certainly since the pandemic. I had some great successes with my fitness and running, and dating. There were some major stresses with work, mental health and family relationships. I certainly learned a lot that I hope to take into 2026.
Looking Forward
In general I think the main theme of the year will be keeping things in balance. It does feel like my life is busier than ever at present, which is great! But that does mean I need to make sure that I am not dropping the ball on my relationships, as well as making time for all the other things I want to achieve.
I already have a lot lined up, spending more time with my partner, going on quite a few holidays, keeping fit and a friends wedding to attend!
Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for updates!
